did you know?

The did you know feature is quite good, but I'll need to have a PHP compliant server in order to implement it without too much strain browser side.
It's a quick script, so something I can do once the site is live.

The Safari Camps

South of Mfuwe Lodge, in a wild and remote area away from all the other camps, are five small bushcamps run by The Bushcamp Company. Each has its own unique charm and character, and all offer superb access to some of the best walking in Africa. Despite their remote locations, the camps have an unfailing dedication to luxury and comfort, and their small sizes mean that we can give a truly personalised experience to every guest that comes our way. Our specific attention to detail means we genuinely believe that what we provide is competitive with luxury resorts in the first-world. None of these, however, offer the pleasure of waking up in the morning to the sound of elephants ambling past your bedroom! We cater to a market who wish for a more remote kind of safari, where true Africa can be experienced either by foot or game drives. Our southern location in the National Park means that there are very few tourists or operators near us, and as a result animals are less used to people and can be seen in their natural, undisturbed habitat.

The camps all have en-suite toilets and custom hot showers installed, and boast a dedicated staff that are there to make your stay as enjoyable and safe as possible. The Bushcamp Company has received glowing reports, and we welcome you to throw any query you have our way, or see for yourself what other people say about us.

More detail on each of the camps can be found by clicking on the respective name above, or the appropriate icon in the summaries below:

KUYENDA

Kuyenda is the simplest of our five camps, with traditional reed-and-thatch bungalows and en-suite showers and toilets. It's a classic bushcamp, notable for the top reputation of its main guide, Phil Berry.

The camp is situated between two permanent waterholes where the animals come to drink - it's the perfect place to relax and watch the game going by.

CHINDENI

Chindeni is one of the Luangwa's most luxurious, well-furnished bushcamps. Its four impressive tents come complete with large writing desks and deck chairs on a wooden veranda. There's an open-air central dining /bar area on wooden decking, overlooking the permanent Chayumba Lagoon. The lagoon attracts a large variety of game including elephants which are a delight to watch as they drink and the little ones play in the water.

CHAMILANDU

Nearby Chamilandu is equally stylish, with new chalets raised on timber platforms above the Luangwa's banks. These have sweeping 180 degree views of the river- you can wake up in the morning and watch the sun rise over the hills from your bed!

The chalets are fitted out with wrought iron, brass and natural fabrics - luxury and comfort in the heart of the African bush!

BILIMUNGWE

Bilimungwe is an impressive camp, with a central open-sided bar/dining area on wooden decking under the shady canopy of of huge old mahogany trees. The dining room looks out over a permanent waterhole where there have been impressive sightings - elephant, buffalo and giraffe (to name a few) only metres away from the dining table.
The comfortable chalets are made of cane and reeds. Each has twin double beds under its tall thatched roof.

KAPAMBA

Kapamba is our newest camp and is the only bush camp to stay open until the end of December. It is one of South Luangwa’s southernmost camps and is in keeping with traditional bushcamps, being remote and unspoilt. It has amenities such as hot and cold running water, electricity and spacious chalets with open-air bathrooms.
All the chalets are set on the banks of the beautiful clear waters of the Kapamba river.
