maps of luangwa

The area that we operate in is simply immense; chances are you won't see anyone but us whilst you're here. Check out these aerial photographs!

did you know?

The did you know feature is quite good, but I'll need to have a PHP compliant server in order to implement it without too much strain browser side.
It's a quick script, so something I can do once the site is live.

Welcome!

The Bushcamp Company is a collection of five small camps in the South Luangwa National Park, where our highly trained guides and staff bring the two worlds of great comfort and raw experience together in a merger of exceptional hospitality and unforgettable African moments. Our bushcamps are delightfully unique, from the tree-house chalets of Chamilandu to the traditional reed-and-thatch Bilimungwe, and all offer superb access to what is commonly regarded as the best walking area in Africa...the Luangwa Valley.

To give you a better idea of what The Bushcamp Company is, we've designed the Web Tour (see below), where all of the key information that you'll need about us has been pulled together. After you've gone through the tour, be sure to see Going on Safari - an explanation on how your trip to Africa will be organised and the procedure that accompanies this. We then suggest that you explore the camps, and let us know where you'd like to go!

THE WEB TOUR LATEST NEWS FROM THE BUSH!
THE BUSHCAMP COMPANY

The tour begins with a description of our company; a short summary of who you're dealing with and the kind of safaris that we do.

THE SOUTH LUANGWA VALLEY

The South Luangwa offers a last taste at "true Africa"; the immense area means that it is relatively untouched. Some more details here...

THE CLASSIC SAFARI

The concept of the "safari" has been spoilt by the package holiday... thousands of tourists in their snap-happy frenzy. We do things differently!

A TYPICAL ITINERARY

This real-life itinerary should give you an idea of what you can expect from us. Each trip is hand-tailored to your preferences!

TESTIMONIALS

What we say about ourselves is irrelevant if our guests don't agree with it! Several have been kind enough to share their African experiences.

THE PHOTO GALLERY

South Luangwa offers some of the best African photography available, and our gallery illustrates some of the scenes that we've witnessed here.

Just putting in a lot of random text here. Imagine this is a news post, written with GreyMatter. This means that Andy can edit it from where he is with minimal effort; it's pretty much just blogging software. If he does an update every two weeks or so, it gives the impression of a regularly updated website, which is good both from SEO and customer point-of-view. News posts should include a small graphic of a predetermined size (can probably use ImageMagick or something like that to control this), and just small, personal details.

During the off-season, this could maybe be a summary of the year in preparation for browsing tourists. "Latest News isn't active at the moment because the bush camps are currently closed in the quiet season. However, here's a summary of the things that have happened in the past year..."

Or something like that...

Just as an important side note, this front page will contain more pictures in the future. To the left of this text will  be small icons (possibly linked to higher resolution? Messy javascript...), but can't do them at the moment since this computer doesn't have photo editing software on it.
