The area that we operate in is simply immense; chances are you won't see anyone but us whilst you're here. Check out these aerial photographs!

did you know?

The did you know feature is quite good, but I'll need to have a PHP compliant server in order to implement it without too much strain browser side.
It's a quick script, so something I can do once the site is live.

The Classic Safari

Previously in The Web Tour we've discussed the idea of the "classic safari", and this perhaps needs some explanation!

Africa has seen a boom in tourism over the past few years, and large operations have started mass-producing access into the continent. The package holiday has diluted the true African experience; tourists are simply thrown into mini-buses and shuttled from animal to animal in a snap-happy frenzy. Reams of photographic evidence can be produced to say, "I went to Africa!", but everything that makes this continent what it is has only been hinted at. The experience has been lost. Seeing and photographing elephants or lions is something that can be done in a zoo, but it is only in Africa where one can walk the land with these creatures, treated as an equal, sharing the daily struggle for life on an equal footing. Little can replace seeing first-hand the thrill of a lion stalking its prey, smelling the same wind, blinking in the same glaring sun, avoiding the same loud footfalls that would betray your presence...

This is where the Classic Safari comes in. Africa was first explored on foot, and we wish to go back to these roots. The South Luangwa National Park is a genuine sanctuary in a rapidly developing continent; its isolation and difficult access has left the area with very little human influence and the result can be seen in the natural behaviour of the animals here.
Our bushcamps are set up to maintain this, their natural construction is one that allows a merger into the surrounding bush, their small size a bonus; it is only a tiny, exclusive audience that are able to visit the area.

This exclusivity is another feature of the Classic Safari idea...your every need and wish is attended to by a personalised and specialist staff trained to make very visit as safe and comfortable as possible.

Your walks and drives in the bush will be conducted by a qualified and hand picked safari guide; interesting people that have spent much of their lives living in this environment and know all of Zambia's ins-and-outs. Their knowledge and eagerness to share it is praised in our customer testimonials...many find that the passion our guides exude is contagious and one of the highlights of a trip.
Not to be outdone, our camp staff make the rest and relaxation element of your safari more than a simple matter of returning to a stale hotel room at the end of the day. Food and drink worthy of any upmarket restaurant belies the deserted location; our bush stoves have been perfected to produce a stunning variety of meals that have been much complemented. Southern Africans have always had a timeless tradition of inviting any person, be they friend or stranger, into their home and treating them as one would family. This romantic notion is one that you'll find at the heart of our hospitality.

The best way to explain what we do is by providing an example. The next step in our Web Tour is A Typical Itinerary; a priced demonstration of what one might do on a trip with us. The best way to organise your safari is to contact us of course, so have a look at what we have to offer with this itinerary and get in touch!
